In an attempt to ease the process of electricity bill payments in Uttar Pradesh, the state officials have decided to roll out a new plan from November 1. As per this scheme, individuals authorised for recording electricity metre readings will also have the right to collect payments from the consumers. The Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation will execute this initiative from next month, ensuring hassle-free transactions at your doorstep.

It has been informed that this scheme will increase the options for bill payments. As of now, consumers can pay their bills at the counters or opt for cashless virtual transactions through the online portals of the power corporation. Now, citizens will also be able to make payments in cash within the comfort of their homes.
Further, authorities informed that the term of current billing agencies will terminate this month. Thereafter, new agencies will take over the responsibilities from November onwards. Keeping this in view, the officials have planned to initiate the new measure from November, in order to ensure a streamlined implementation of the program.

All citizens wishing to make instant payments will be able to do so with the help of the metre reading agents. It is expected that this plan will benefit a large count of citizens, who are not aware of the online methods to make payments.
