The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to pay a digital homage to the martyrs of the Indian freedom struggle, as the country marks the 100th anniversary of the Chaura-Chauri Incident. The state has decided that it will induct all movements related to Uttar Pradesh on a digital platform. This medium will become the mouth organ which will narrate the heroic tales of valour and sacrifice of our freedom fighters, making it available to every nook and corner of the world, accessible through a single click.

The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister has issued directed to organise the Chauri-Chaura centenary celebrations for a full year from February 4 onwards by organising different cultural programmes at martyr memorial sites across the state. To further make a statement, the state head has instructed to collect and assemble the incidents of India's freedom movement and the literature related to the martyrs and make them available online.

These will include all movements of the independence struggle, which are, in any way, associated the state, including legendary tales of the 1925 Kakori incident of Lucknow, 1922 Chauri-Chaura incident of Gorakhpur and the Meerut revolt of 1857. These chronicles of incidents will not only highlight UP's contribution to the freedom movement but also will digitise them, giving it a global reach.

"The Chief Minister has also given instructions to conduct researches on subjects related to the contribution of the martyrs in the freedom struggle and start scholarships in the universities," said the government spokesman.
