The Government of Uttar Pradesh has released the much-awaited list of public holidays for 2025, bringing good news for residents across the state. With a total of 24 public and 31 restricted holidays, the 2025 calendar promises an interesting blend of workdays and festivities. The upcoming holidays will mostly fall on weekdays, with three on Saturdays and Sundays, and four on Mondays, offering extended weekends for many.
Among the key holidays are Republic day on January 26, Maha Shivratri on February 26, Holi on March 14, and Eid ul Fitr on March 31, which coincides with a Sunday. Notably, the government has clarified that if two major events coincide on the same day, only one holiday will be granted, ensuring no double holidays.
The list also highlights festivals like Raksha Bandhan on August 9, Janmashtami on August 16, and Diwali on October 20. While some holidays like Republic Day, Ram Navami, and Moharram will fall on Sundays, the rest will be on weekdays, offering breaks for office-goers. The government has also provided a list of restricted holidays, including special occasions like New Year’s Day, Makar Sankranti, and Basant Panchami.
This comprehensive list is a boon for those looking to plan their holidays in advance!
