Pawan Kaushal, Knocksense Staff

To ease the intense traffic snarls at the Telibagh Chauraha in Lucknow, a new flyover will be constructed by the Uttar Pradesh State Bridge Corporation Ltd. This will bring in a major relief to commuters coming from Cantt, Bangla Bazaar, Utarathiya and Saheed Path (Vrindavan exit). Pegged to be a major step towards easing mobility in the city, this new project is expected to commence in the current financial year.

Bringing in a sigh of relief for commuters!

The Telibagh intersection in Lucknow is prone to heavy traffic jams, throughout the day, given that it is the nexus of roads leading from Vrindavan Yojna of Housing Development, or those towards SGPGI. Thus, the need of an additional roadway has been felt here for a long time to divert the flow of traffic.

According to Yogesh Pawar, MD of Uttar Pradesh State Bridge Corporation, a survey of the traffic of Telibagh intersection has been done and the project will take off soon.

Besides, the plan also includes a road-widening project at the overbridge in front of PGI and Pakri bridge on VIP road with the help of NHAI. Once the proposal for the same is passed, a detailed project report will be prepared it before work commences.

New ROB to be set up at Dilkusha Railway Crossing

In addition to this, a dedicated plan of action has also been issued for the safety of pedestrians at Dilkusha Railway crossing, Vikramaditya Marg. This region will get a rail-over-bridge (ROB) to ensure safe walkway for walkers, reducing accidents. This project too, will be started in the current financial year, read reports.
