UPSRTC aims to add 100 new buses to its existing fleet in Lucknow within 100 days!

Under the ambit of this project, the transport corporation will add 90 diesel buses and 10 CNG buses in Lucknow

Uttar Pradesh State Road Corporation has decided to add 100 new buses to the roadways fleet in Lucknow. Notably, the transport corporation had earlier proposed adding new electric buses in Lucknow, however witnessing the unavailability of charging stations, the authority will now add CNG buses instead of the electric ones. Under the ambit of this project, the transport corporation will add 90 diesel buses and 10 CNG buses to the existing fleet of buses. As a part of this plan, all the old and obsolete roadways buses will be taken off the roads now. According to reports, the administration will introduce these new buses in a record time of 100 days.

With this, CNG buses will ply along Lucknow and Kanpur for the first time ever. According to reports, the CNG buses will make four rounds between the two cities on a daily basis. Upon operation, more than 1000 people will be able to use this bus service from Lucknow to Kanpur and vice-versa. Notably, these new buses will soon be inducted into the fleet and are likely to start the commercial run from April 15.

According to reports, 6 new buses out of the upcoming lot will be set off from the Purvanchal Expressway to Azamgarh. In addition to this, 10 buses will be deployed on the Ayodhya, Basti, Gorakhpur, Tanda, and Mahmudabad routes while 8 buses will ply on Baliya, Mau, and Ghazipur routes. Moreover, Prayagraj and Hardoi will also get 8 new bus services while Pratapgargh will get 6 and Bareilly and Sultanpur will get 4 new buses as well.
