Uttar Pradesh to soon get its very 1st All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA)

Ayurveda is an alternative medicine system and translates to knowledge of life.

Uttar Pradesh is all set to raise state’s first All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) that would be a centre of excellence for Ayurveda tertiary health care and promote education, research and patient care.

AIIA will run on similar lines as AIIMS or All India Institute of Medical Sciences and provide postgraduate/doctoral programmes, post-doctoral teaching, and research facilities.

First AIIA in Uttar Pradesh

Ayurveda is an alternative medicine system and translates to knowledge of life. Based on the idea that disease is due to an imbalance or stress in a person's consciousness, Ayurveda encourages certain lifestyle interventions and natural therapies to regain a balance between the body, mind, spirit, and the environment. Thus, this new initiative by the Uttar Pradesh government, will help expand the knowledge on the subject and further help aspiring students pursue their dreams.

A land of almost 15 acres is required for the AIIA. As per officials, proposal for first AIIA in UP has already been sent to the state government. Once approved, the authorities will start identification of land to establish the institute followed by infrastructure planning.

The project is likely to come up in eastern Uttar Pradesh or Varanasi. So far, Uttar Pradesh is home to over 100 Ayurveda colleges, including 65 in the private sector.
