The project will be called 'Sant Kabir PM Mitra Textile and Apparel Park'.

A new mega textile park will soon be constructed in the Malihabad Tehsil, which comes under the Lucknow district of UP. Land squaring up to 1,161 acres has been earmarked for this new project, which will be known as Sant Kabir PM Mitra Textile and Apparel Park. The textile park will take over as the new hub for the business for 15 districts in UP.

Logistically apt location of textile hub

The proposed park will house handloom works of Barabanki and Hardoi, Sitapur carpets, zari zardoza and chikankari from Lucknow among other works from Azamgarh, Rampur and Gorakhpur. Furthermore, the new park will also become home to silk, textile and handloom clusters from Varanasi and Gautam Buddha Nagar.

One of the neatest piece of planning is the location of the park. It is set to come up near NH-30, which will ensure connectivity to MP, Chhattisgarh and Telangana, among various other states across India.

Concerned authorities have already conducted an assessment of water availability and solid waste management at the proposed location of the park, arriving at the conclusion that the site is perfect for the new mega textile park near Lucknow and can perfectly serve as the foundation for UP's new textile hub.
