The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is swiftly advancing with the construction of the Kanpur-Lucknow Expressway, also recognised as National Expressway 6 (NE-6). According to the most recent project updates, the elevated section of the expressway spanning 16.5 km from Nadarganj on the outskirts of Lucknow to Bani, is nearing completion.

The expressway project carries immense strategic significance as it aims to enhance connectivity between two pivotal cities in Uttar Pradesh. Additionally, the expressway will incorporate multiple intersections, facilitating access for as many as 41 villages situated along the route between Lucknow and Kanpur. NHAI's projections suggest that the 62.7 km long expressway is slated for completion between March and July 2025.
