To ease travel during the upcoming Ganpati festival, Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) will run 10 special overnight buses between August 27 and September 6. These services will operate between 11 pm and 6 am, connecting parts of Mumbai with popular Ganesh pandals.

Routes to major pandals

The overnight buses will link south Mumbai with the eastern and western suburbs, giving devotees direct access to pandals in Girgaum, Lalbaug, Parel and Chembur. Routes include 4 Ltd, A-8, A-21, A-25, A-42, A-44, 51, 64, 66 and 69. Further, bus staff have been instructed to halt at any bus stop where devotees signal them, for convenient boarding and alighting.

Moreover, to handle the large footfall, bus inspectors will be stationed at stops for orderly boarding and crowd control. Depot managers have also been directed to ensure the buses are dispatched on time.
