Mumbai's CSMIA sets new record, amid Diwali weekend! 1,032 single-day flights take off on Nov 11

Annually, as the Diwali holidays approach, a discernible surge in passenger traffic is witnessed across India's extensive railway networks, bus routes, and airways. This year, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) in Mumbai, has notably experienced a substantial increase in activity during the Diwali weekend. On November 11, the airport achieved a significant milestone, recording a total of 1,032 flights, thereby surpassing the previous year's record of 1,004 single-day flights.

Additionally, over the course of the weekend (Nov 11 - 13), CSMI Airport efficiently managed a total of 2,893 flights, accommodating a substantial passenger load of 516,562. This encompassed 354,541 domestic passengers and 162,021 international passengers.
