Charging facilities at 9 major railway stations in Mumbai division

Reportedly, an EV charging facility will be made available at nine major railway stations, namely, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Dadar, Byculla, Parel, Kurla, Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Bhandup, Kalyan and Panvel.

The charging station at the aforementioned railway stations will operate round the clock and will also augment the charging infrastructure for EVs to function smoothly. Additionally, the move will also facilitate the low maintenance requirements.

Apart from promoting green initiatives, the provision of setting up EV charging facilities will open gates for additional income for Central Railways through Non-Fare Revenue Scheme.

Adding to the list of green initiatives taken by the railways department, setting up EV charging points for public access is another major step towards a sustainable and healthy future.
