A bar with a mystery | Here's why KOJAK is Juhu’s most intriguing new address

Proof that Juhu can do more than just golden hour content.

Khushboo Ali

Juhu's always delivered on the obvious stuff, killer sunsets, that ocean breeze, the kind of vibe that makes you feel like the main character in your own movie. But a cocktail bar with actual depth? That's been the missing piece. Enter KOJAK. Built around the legend of some mysterious figure who left behind nothing but a leather notebook and questions, this place doesn't just serve drinks, it pulls you into a story where every detail matters and nothing's quite what it seems.

Inside the Cocktail lab: Stories, shaken and stirred

The mood is set even before the first drink arrives. Designed by Esquisse, KOJAK has a cinematic yet intimate feel, with low lighting, textured surfaces, and a controlled use of shadow. Darker corners transition into softer spaces, eventually opening up to an alfresco terrace that offers a more relaxed setting. The lighting and layout are intentional, allowing the details of the space to emerge gradually, with seating arranged to feel considered rather than crowded.

The focus then shifts to the drinks. Head Mixologist Ratan Upadhyay approaches cocktails as structured compositions rather than standalone pours. The menu is presented like a collection of personal notes, featuring names such as Page 17, Tangier Heat, Velvet Code, and The Fifth Secret. Each cocktail is designed to be experienced slowly, encouraging guests to engage with its flavours and the idea behind it as they drink.

Globally inspired, comfort-led plates

The storytelling doesn’t stop at the bar, it carries straight into the kitchen. Led by Culinary Director Suheb Chawdhary, the menu borrows from global flavours but keeps things unfussy and instinctive. Dishes feel familiar yet playful, like the unexpectedly comforting Butter Chicken Gnocchi or the light, well-balanced Togarashi-crusted Sea Bass. Add to that a punchy Tuna Tartare and Turkish Lamb Kebabs that deliver on pure comfort, and you’ve got food that quietly holds its own and convinces you to linger a little longer.

Behind it all are two female promoters who choose to stay out of the spotlight, an intentional move that fits perfectly with KOJAK’s love for subtlety and intrigue. Along with Founding Partner & COO Khalid Ansari and creative collaborators The Alkemist Project, they’ve shaped a space that values mood over noise and discovery over display.

KOJAK’s here to keep you hooked

As Juhu’s after-dark scene finds a new rhythm, KOJAK slips in quietly, and instantly stands out. Here, every drink feels like an invitation to look closer, stay longer, order one more. So go ahead, take that next sip, follow the hint, let the night unfold at its own pace. Some stories aren’t meant to be rushed, and KOJAK is best experienced exactly that way.
