A new milestone | University of Mumbai climbs to 245th spot in 2025 QS Asia Rankings

The institution saw an overall performance boost by 76%.

The University of Mumbai has made a remarkable leap in the 2025 QS Asia University Rankings, climbing from the 291-300 range to 245th place, marking a 76% improvement in its overall score. This impressive advancement includes a climb to 52nd place in South Asia, reflecting the institution's growing regional influence.

Key areas of growth include a 20% increase in research productivity, a rise in the employer reputation score from 31.8 to 64.1, and a doubling of academic reputation, moving from 17.6 to 34.6. Internationalisation efforts also gained traction, with the international student ratio skyrocketing from 10.4 to 32.6, and global research networks expanding significantly.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Ravindra Kulkarni praised the progress, highlighting the university’s commitment to strengthening its global presence and academic standing further.
