After enduring scorching heat in the last couple of days, Mumbai residents can now expect some relief as mercury has finally taken a dip. Today's high is forecasted to be below or near 35°C, a relief from Tuesday's staggering 39.7°, which was the hottest April day in Mumbai, since 2009.

Despite the lower temperatures, Mumbai remains under a yellow alert for 'hot and humid conditions,' as stated by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), covering Mumbai, Thane, and Palghar districts until Friday.

The heightened perception of heat is attributed to prevailing hot and humid conditions, accentuated by recorded temperatures around 34°C. Moreover, relief might be on the horizon, with isolated city pockets expected to experience light rainfall or thundershowers towards the evening, offering a respite from the scorching weather. This forecast follows Mumbai's hottest April day in the past 15 years.

Meanwhile, amidst rising temperatures, Mumbai's power demand hit an all-time high on Tuesday, surpassing 4000 MW for the first time. Despite the surge, no load shedding was implemented, with power companies like TATA Power and Adani Electricity reporting increased demands from customers across the city and suburbs.
