Art and Charlie in Bandra: A cultural symposium that continues to pull in art enthusiasts

Khushbu Kirti

Bringing artists under one roof, in a unique ensemble, this is the place to stumble upon seminal artists, collectors and aspiring individuals, alike. Today, we talk about Art and Charlie - a cultural symposium that speaks about everything that is aesthetic and artsy in the world.

Located in the embrace of Bandra's bylanes while refining Pali Village scenes, this gallery forms the cultural centre of the modern art movement. Yep, it is as significant as it sounds. The gallery not only lets enthusiasts explore creative exhibits but also hosts enlivening programmes and events.

A hub of contemporary visual art: Art and Charlie

Contemporary visual artists from all around India, come here to display their skills and creativity in a way that is less frequented. All around the year, innumerable exhibitions glisten Art and Charlie. Besides, film screenings, theatre, music gigs, workshops, and comedy events, among others, enrich it further.

May we colour you intrigued, already?

There's also a special design shop nestled in the gallery, which is close to a museum gift shop. What is special about it, is that it lets visitors carry a piece of art back home! Basically, art enthusiats get to pick a souvenir by the artists working at the gallery. Wanna become a collector? This sounds like a smooth start!

Founded by Ayesha Parikh in 2019, this art hub began as an ambitious nomadic gallery that would only curate shows in the beginning. However, as a result of its ability to adapt to every situation, this gallery has enjoyed a resounding success over the years.

Embark on a cultural journey at Art and Charlie

Art and Charlie metamorphosed into an online platform, during the pandemic, that let aesthetes explore art fused with technology. And as the world got through the pandemic, Art & Charlie ventured towards creating an exclusive two-storey space, that today stands as a cynosure of art and creativity.

While you embark on a cultural journey at this gallery, the adjacent Subko Mini cafe can also help you unwind. Cutesy and, as the name says, 'mini' in size, Subko Mini is touted to be India's smallest cafe (let alone Mumbai's)! Live the delightful art attack while enjoying croissants along with your caffeine dose, here. Check out their Instagram page to keep up-to-date with upcoming shows and exhibits.
