The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) is set to operate 374 additional bus services to handle the surge in commuters during the annual Mount Mary Fair at Bandra (West). The popular Bandra Fair, which runs from September 14 to 21, attracts thousands of pilgrims from across Mumbai, making efficient public transport a top priority.

Shuttle Services between Bandra Station and Hill Road Garden

To manage the influx of visitors, BEST will run special shuttle services between Bandra Railway Station (West) and Hill Road Garden, the nearest bus-accessible point to Mount Mary Church. Given the narrow, congested roads near the church, regular buses cannot reach the venue directly. These shuttle services are designed as the primary transit option for pilgrims arriving by train.

Enhanced bus connectivity across Bandra

Additional buses will also operate on routes including C-71, A-202, 321 Ltd., A-375, A-422, A-473, and C-505. In addition to this special services, BEST will deploy extra buses on regular Bandra routes as required, ensuring better connectivity throughout the festive period.

On-ground monitoring & passenger safety

To further maintain operational efficiency and public safety, BEST will station bus inspectors and traffic officers at strategic locations. These officials will manage services, direct passenger movement, and respond promptly to any traffic disruptions or overcrowding.

Moreover, BEST has urged commuters to take advantage of the special bus services and cooperate with staff for a safe and hassle-free travel experience.
