At ₹2450, this Mumbai theatre sold out India's costliest Oppenheimer tickets

Arguably, no single event has changed the course of human history so much as the invention of the atomic bomb. And this going-to-be a legendary movie - Oppenheimer, directed by Christopher Nolan, talks about the same. What’s interesting is that the movie, even before its release, has managed to generate a massive buzz in India. The costliest tickets in India, each priced at ₹2,450 (without taxes), were sold out at Mumbai’s Phoenix Palladium, Lower Parel.

Even while clashing with another much-hyped release, Greta Gerwig's Barbie, Oppenheimer has managed to sell over 2 lakh tickets in India, alone. Both movies are set to clash at the box-office on July 21. Taking cognisance of the same, Mumbai Police was quick enough to issue public safety guidelines on Instagram with a post captioned, “With such ‘Barbie actions, you’re signing up for Oppenheimer consequences”.
