BEST adds 25 extra buses, launches 'Heritage Tour' to Mumbai’s top tourist spots for New Year’s Eve

Buses will operate across key city routes, connecting popular tourist hotspots

Mumbai tends to attract a surge of tourists during New Year’s Eve. To enhance the festivities and facilitate seamless travel for revellers, the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) has announced special services for the 31st of December, 2024.

A total of 25 additional buses will operate across key routes connecting popular tourist hotspots, including the Gateway of India, Juhu Beach, Gorai Beach, and Marve Beach. Anticipating large crowds at these destinations, BEST aims to provide convenient and safe transportation options.

BEST has also introduced a unique Heritage Tourm, featuring its air-conditioned electric double-decker buses. This midnight tour allows passengers to explore South Mumbai’s iconic landmarks, such as the Gateway of India, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, and Nariman Point. Operating every 45 minutes from 10 AM on the 31st of December to 3 AM on the 1st of January, tickets are priced at ₹150 for the upper deck and ₹75 for the lower deck.

Traffic officers and bus inspectors will be stationed at key hubs like Churchgate Station and Dr. Shyamaprasad Mukherjee Chowk to assist passengers. Officials have assured that additional buses will be deployed if demand surges, ensuring a smooth celebration for Mumbai’s residents and visitors alike.
