Effective today, a new bus route No 374, linking Sion Railway Station to Bandra Station (W), will help alleviate traffic challenges. The said route has been introduced by Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport (BEST) due to the closure of Sion Flyover.

With the flyover connecting Sion East-West declared unsafe by Central Railway, heavy vehicles and those exceeding 2.80 meters in height will face restrictions on both sides of the bridge, till July 13, 2024. The new route is expected to provide a vital alternative for affected commuters during the bridge's closure period.

Moreover, due to the closure of Sion Flyover, traffic congestion is expected on the following nine routes and hence, shall be declared as NO Parking Roads. They are: Saint Kabir Road, Sion Mahim Link Road, Matunga Labour Camp, Sulochana Shetty Road, Bhau Daji Road, Saint Rohidas Road, Sion Bandra Link Road, Dharavi Depot Road and K K Krushnan Menon Road.
