The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has called off the maintenance work on a major pipeline in Andheri East, which was planned for May 22. Consequently, there will be no water cuts or supply disruptions in Goregaon, Jogeshwari, Andheri, and Vile Parle, contrary to the initial announcement. This cancellation, confirmed by the BMC on Friday, ensures uninterrupted water supply in these areas.

The BMC has cancelled the work due to technical reasons

The maintenance was intended to connect two main water channels, a 1500 mm diameter channel and a new 1200 mm diameter channel, known as the Parle outlet. The work was set to take place between Sawant Marg and Cardinal Gracious Marg Junction to Cardinal Gracious Marg and Sahar Marg Junction. The operation was expected to take 16 hours, leading to the announcement of water supply interruptions on May 22 and 23.

However, due to technical reasons, the BMC has decided to cancel the work, ensuring that residents in the mentioned areas will not experience any water supply issues on these dates. The BMC confirmed this update on Friday, providing relief to the residents who were preparing for the inconvenience of water cuts.
