Central Railway responds to summer rush with 38 additional special trains from Mumbai

These additional services aim to alleviate passengers' rush.

In anticipation of the seasonal surge in passengers, Central Railway has announced the operation of 38 additional summer special train services. Among these, 36 tri-weekly AC Specials will ply between Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Mumbai, and Thivim, along with 2 Specials connecting Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Mumbai, and Danapur.

  • LTT-Thivim-LTT Tri-weekly AC Specials: 36 trips

    Running from April 26th, 2024, to June 4th, 2024

  • LTT-Danapur Specials: 2 trips

Scheduled for April 26th and April 27th, 2024

These additional services aim to alleviate the strain caused by the increased demand for long-distance routes, especially to North Indian states like Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Despite Indian Railways' introduction of over 9,000 summer special trains this year, passengers continue to face challenges, with premium tatkal tickets in high demand and inflated prices causing concern.

Railway officials are actively monitoring stations to manage crowds efficiently, ensuring a smoother travel experience for passengers during this busy period.
