Coldplay in Mumbai: Traffic advisory, 10 buses and special trains announced for Jan 18, 19 & 21

Thousands of people are expected to attend the Coldplay concert in Mumbai on January 18, 19, and 21. With only one day left before Mumbai says hello to a Sky Full of Stars, authorities have announced a series of services to make travel easier. Navi Mumbai Municipal Transport (NMMT) will operate 10 additional buses from Nerul and Juinagar railway stations to the concert venue.

Further, Cityflo, a private bus service, will also operate buses from Goregaon, South Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, and Thane to DY Patil Stadium. Bookings can be made via Cityflo app.

Coldplay Traffic Advisory

To ensure smooth traffic movement, authorities have imposed traffic restrictions u/s 115, 116 (1)(a)(b), and 117 of the Motor Vehicles Act, around DY Patil Stadium on January 18, 19 and 21!

  1. Heavy vehicles, including trucks and goods carriers are prohibited from entering, travelling, or parking on roads within the Navi Mumbai Police Commissionerate's jurisdiction during the event days.

  2. The restrictions will apply between 2 pm and 12 am on the concert days.

Exceptions apply for vehicles transporting essential goods, emergency services, and government vehicles.

Exclusive Trains for Coldplay in Mumbai

Indian Railways has also introduced a new local train service operating between Goregaon and Nerul. As reported by India Today, the special train will make stops at Andheri, Bandra, Chembur, and Juinagar. The train's schedule is as follows:

  • The train will depart from Goregaon at 2:00 pm, for Nerul.

  • The train will depart from Nerul at 11:00 pm, heading back to Goregaon.

Tickets for a round trip are priced at ₹500 and can only be purchased through BookMyShow.
