In an exciting move to promote interdisciplinary education, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Mumbai has partnered with the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) in Dhanbad and Patna to offer a unique five-year dual-degree programme. This initiative will allow select BTech students from these IITs to pursue their engineering degree and an MBA from IIM Mumbai simultaneously, without appearing for the Common Admission Test (CAT).

Students with a CGPA above 7.5 by the second semester are eligible to enroll. They must complete foundational management courses at their IITs before transitioning to IIM Mumbai in the eighth semester. This initiative aligns with the National Education Policy 2020’s emphasis on interdisciplinary education.

Limited to 15 students per IIT annually, the programme will culminate in a BTech, a Diploma in Management, and an MBA, offering students a head start in IIM Mumbai’s placement process.
