India Art Fair cancels its inaugural Mumbai Edition for 2025 | Here’s why

The event was set to feature around 50 galleries.

The highly anticipated inaugural Mumbai edition of the India Art Fair (IAF), scheduled for November 13-16, 2025 at Jio World Garden, has been cancelled. The event, which was set to feature around 50 galleries under the name India Art Fair Contemporary, would have clashed with the established Art Mumbai fair.

IAF director Jaya Asokan explained the decision, emphasising the fair’s commitment to prioritising galleries and artists, prompting a shift in direction. The overlap with Art Mumbai’s dates, along with concerns from galleries about managing both events, influenced the move.

Rather than hosting the fair, IAF will now work with cultural institutions on year-round programs to support emerging art scenes in Mumbai and across India.
