Here's how BMC plans to keep public movement unhindered throughout the rainy season

Mumbai has been hit by very heavy rainfall in the past few weeks, which is predicted to continue for a few more days, resulting in waterlogging and landslides in many areas around the city. Traffic and movement on the roads has been affected due to this and now, to tackle the same, the officials have a new plan. BMC commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal has decided in a meeting, to arrange more buses for the commuters, in case of heavy rain in Mumbai.

The civic transport body BEST and the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) are directed to produce 400 BEST buses, and 11 extra buses in case the local trains stop working due to rain. Chahal has also ordered the officials to fill the potholes within 24 hours of a complaint.
