Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport (BEST) on Tuesday announced the launch of a bus service to, and from Mumbai airport terminal taxi stand. The buses are aimed at providing last mile connectivity from the airport to suburban areas.

Now, BEST city buses will also be located near the Terminal departure and arrival areas, offering an affordable and easy commute to travellers. The directive allowing BEST to park their buses near Terminal building was issued on Tuesday by the Airport Authority of India.

Earlier, a pick and drop service of BEST buses was allowed up to almost 300 meters away from the gates, from where passengers would walk to the terminal.

With Mumbai airport witnessing its highest single-day passenger footfall after the COVID lockdown, the move will bridge the economical gap faced by many travellers. Reportedly, 15 AC buses will ply on three routes: to Navi Mumbai, Thane and south Mumbai.
