In view of the deteriorating air quality, the Bombay High Court has slapped a partial ban on burning firecrackers in Mumbai till Diwali, i.e., November 12. According to the order, bursting of firecrackers will only be allowed from 7 PM to 10 PM. Furthermore, the court has also asked the administration to ensure strict implementation of the Mumbai Air Pollution Mitigation Plan.

It is noteworthy that Mumbai's AQI, which was already hovering over the 'Poor' category, further declined on Monday. Within the city, areas like Deonar, Chembur, and Mulund are the worst affected, recording AQI levels above 250.
