Relief for commuters, after a few days of extreme congestion.

Traffic restrictions on Thane's Saket Bridge have been lifted and the bridge has now reopened for public usage. It is noteworthy that the NHAI and MSRDC had announced immediate closure of the two-lane Saket Bridge, on the Nashik-bound lane of the Mumbai-Nashik Highway, from August 25.

The closure was prompted by the deteriorating state of the stretch, which needed to be repaired. Naturally, the restrictions led to extreme congestion on Ghodbunder Road and the Eastern Express Highway.

Now, the repaired Saket Bridge lanes have been reopened after a thorough inspection by MSRDC engineers. The latter has issued a safety certification to the lanes, which have now been approved for all safety benchmarks to ensure efficient traffic flow.
