Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in the Konkan area of Maharashtra, Goa, and other parts of the west coast

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday issued a rain alert in Maharashtra for the next five days. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely in the Konkan area of Maharashtra, and isolated locations in the ghat region of Nashik, Pune, Kolhapur and Satara from July 6 to 8. Goa, coastal Karnataka, and Kerala too will be washed by this intense downpour.

According to the MeT bulletin, strong westerly winds will hit the west coast of India in the lower tropospheric levels. The weather department has also predicted light scattered rainfall over east Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, and other parts of India.
