The Maharashtra Government has renamed the Versova-Bandra Sea Link, after freedom fighter Veer Savarkar. The sea link will now be called the Veer Savarkar Setu. It is noteworthy that plans to rename the bridge were announced by the Maharashtra CM on May 28 - on the occasion of Veer Savarkar's birth anniversary.

Furthermore, the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link, which connects Mumbai with Navi Mumbai, has also been renamed after former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Now, the MTHL will be known as the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Smruti Nhava Sheva Atal Setu.
