According to a recent statement by a Mumbai airport official, CSMIA will remain shut between 11 AM and 5 PM on October 17. The step is being taken to carry out after-monsoon runway repair and maintenance work at the CSMI Airport.

During the closure, both Mumbai airport runways 09/27 and 14/32, will be shut for all flight operations. In this regard, a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) has already been issued six months to advance. Furthermore, the officials say that this practice is essential to keep Mumbai airport's infrastructure up to its usual high standards.
