The van will be active in Dahisar, Borivali and Kandivali areas of Mumbai.

An innovative initiative has been undertaken by NGO Happy Buds Foundation in Mumbai, where pet owners can host a dignified crematorium for their deceased pets in a mobile van. The pyre in the van operates through electricity and is a less expensive option than a traditional burial. Given that Mumbai is already packed, this is a convenient option for people who want to preserve the environment and avoid the use of burial spaces.

As per officials, the cremation van will move around in Dahisar, Borivali and Kandivali areas of Mumbai. Moreover, cremation of stray animals will be conducted free of cost, whereas, pet owners will be charged ₹3,000 including maintenance and diesel cost.

Currently, Mumbai has a crematorium for pets at SPCA Parel and Pet Heavens -Dog Cat Burial and cremation Service in Mira-Bhayandar.
