The pandemic seems to have taken a U-turn in the city that never sleeps. On Wednesday, Mumbai reported the highest COVID-19 cases since July 1,. The city recorded 975 new infections, with two deaths.

This is the highest number of cases the city has reported for a single day in the last 47 days. However, only 59 patients out of these 975 reported cases showed any symptoms.

According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the positivity rate of the city has reached 12%. Additionally, the overall number of COVID-19 victims has increased to 11,34,479, with a death toll of 19,668.
