Mumbai is soon to welcome the country's first Indian Institute of Creative Technologies (IICT). As per reports, the Maharashtra Government has already assigned land for the institute. India's Information and Broadcasting Minister revealed the details of this new intiative on October 8, at the National Film Awards ceremony.

A mission to boost creators’ economy

With a mission to boost creators’ economy, this institute is set to be a home for budding talent. According to official statements, the government has a three-pronged strategy to uplift the entertainment sector: developing talent, building state-of-the-art infrastructure, and streamlining the filmmaking approval process.

Reportedly, the government is also taking action to protect India’s film heritage. This includes films, music, posters, filmmaking equipment, and all other related items.
