Mumbai's legendary dabbawalas, who’ve been delivering dabbas (tiffins) across the city for decades, are now a part of Kerala's Class 9 English syllabus! These iconic lunchbox maestros have been immortalised in a five-page chapter titled ‘The Saga of the Tiffin Carrier’ penned by Hugh and Colleen Gantzer.

This new addition to Kerala’s 2024 curriculum is a tribute to the dabbawalas’ journey from humble beginnings to global fame. Meanwhile, Dabbawalas of Mumbai expressed their gratitude to The Kerala State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) for shining a spotlight on their lunch-packing prowess.
