It is expected to impact Odisha and Gujarat as well.

A potent cyclone is looming over the Bay of Bengal, and is set to affect Odisha, Maharashtra, and Gujarat between May 23 to 27, stated Mumbai Nowcast in a report. While Mumbai holds its breath, anticipation mounts: Will the tempest touch Mumbai’s coast? Weather agencies are still unsure but if it does, brace yourself, as heavy to very rains threaten to drench the city.

As the cyclone gains strength, its imminent landfall on the eastern coast is impending, before traversing westward, impacting a wide region of the country.

“Models predicting Heavy Rains for Gujarat and Mumbai around 28 May,” Mumbai Nowcast wrote on X.

Despite the escalating intensity, the India Meteorological Department has maintained silence about this forecast.
