Maharashtra University of Health Sciences to evaluate answer sheets online, for accurate results

Khushboo Ali

The Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) is shifting to online assessment of answer sheets, starting this academic year. Following successful trials last year, MUHS, overseeing approximately 536 medical colleges, recognised the efficiency and accuracy of online evaluation, prompting its expansion to all courses.

Vice-Chancellor Lieutenant General Dr. Madhuri Kanitkar (Retd) affirmed the decision, citing the model's success in expediting result declarations. MUHS officials noted that the new assessment method mirrors that of the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in Karnataka. With results expected within two weeks, compared to the usual 1.5 months, MUHS has enlisted an agency for software provision and established digital evaluation centers in every medical college.

These centres, equipped with CCTV surveillance, ensure meticulous assessment procedures, aided by OTP verification for assessors. This transition promises timely results for the 70,000 to 80,000 students appearing in MUHS's eight faculty examinations annually.
