Heavy overnight showers led to waterlogging across several low-lying areas, forcing authorities to shut the Andheri subway to vehicular traffic at 1:46 am. Police personnel were deployed at the site to prevent accidents. With Monday marking the start of the working week, commuters are likely to face delays due to rainfall and waterlogged roads.

Yellow Alert issued for Mumbai and neighbouring regions

Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Yellow Alert for Mumbai, Thane and surrounding areas, forecasting moderate rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds of up to 50 kmph. Moderate to heavy rain is forecast across parts of coastal Maharashtra through the first week of July.
