The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted moderate rain in Mumbai today, with a week-long spell of precipitation expected to follow. While no alerts have been issued for the city itself, the weather department has issued yellow, orange and red alerts across Maharashtra.

Mumbaikars can expect a generally cloudy sky with moderate rain throughout the week, accompanied by gradually decreasing temperatures. The IMD predicts consistent rainfall from September 3 to 8.

Meanwhile several districts in Maharashtra face more severe weather warnings. Nandurbar, Dhule, Parbhani, Nanded, and Hingoli are under a red alert for extremely heavy rain. Other areas, including Jalgaon, Nashik, and Aurangabad, have received orange alerts for heavy rain with thunderstorms and lightning.
