Mumbai’s favourite literary weekend is back. Literature Live! Mumbai LitFest 2025 kicks off today at the NCPA, Nariman Point, marking its 16th year of championing stories, ideas and spirited debate. Running from November 7 to 9, this year’s edition brings together more than 120 writers, thinkers and performers from over 10 countries. Free for all to attend, the festival celebrates fiction, poetry, history, science and the many ways in which words shape the world.

What to expect this year

The festival expands its accessibility efforts with over 15 sessions supported by Indian Sign Language interpretation, plus a sensory-friendly tent designed for neurodivergent children and visitors seeking a calming space. Expect conversations that spark reflection, workshops for young readers, and themed sessions curated by the Godrej DEI Lab.

Awards will be presented across fiction, non-fiction, business and playwriting. The festival will also honour Gujarati poet Sitanshu Yashaschandra as Poet Laureate and celebrate Hindi writer Vinod Kumar Shukla with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
