Regarded as the city's lifeline, Mumbai's suburban rail network is known for being crowded. But the Mumbai local train commuter groups believe that things are getting out of hand and have called for 'White Wear' protest on August 22.

The groups are organising this protest against the overcrowding of Mumbai local trains and the constant delays in the completion of the projects like the Mumbai Urban Transport Project (MUTP), that have been aimed at easing the congestion.

On the decided day of the protest, i.e., August 22, all commuters have been urged to wear white clothes as a symbol of protest against overcrowding.
