Mumbai Metro Expansion: New metro lines 7A and 3 to enhance connectivity to CSMI Airport

The two new lines will take commuters directly to the airport terminal area.

Connectivity to CSMI Airport is all set to get more convenient for Mumbaikars with two new metro lines. According to reports, these metro lines include one from Gundavali Metro Station to the CSMI Airport (Line 7A) and the Colaba-Bandra-SEEPZ (Line 3). The latter will boost commute for travellers from Colaba, who will be able to get off at the CSMIA T2 station.

Metro Line 3 expected to be ready by first quarter of 2024

The Metro Line 3 will be an underground project and the station for the line is more than 90% complete. According to reports, this Metro Line 3 will either be ready by December this year or early 2024. After the extension, Line 3 is expected to become the busiest metro line in Mumbai.

Metro Line 7A, on the other hand, is an extension of the red line which connects Gundavali and Dahisar East. This new metro line is expected to start operating in December 2025. Once completed, it will connect Andheri East directly to CSMI Airport.

The current airport station is located on Metro Line 1. But the expansion of Mumbai metro with these 2 new lines will take commuters directly to the CSMI airport terminal area.
