Mumbai’s metro network is gearing up for a major expansion with the upcoming Metro Line 14, linking Kanjurmarg to Badlapur-Ambarnath. Spanning 38 km with 15 stations,13 elevated and 1 underground, this new corridor is set to transform commuting for Badlapur residents. The metro will slash the current 1.5 to 2-hour travel time to Mumbai down to just a few minutes, offering a faster, more efficient transit option.

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has taken a step forward by appointing a consultant to prepare an environmental impact report, a significant requirement as the route passes through ecologically sensitive areas like Thane Creek and the Flamingo Sanctuary. With the detailed project report (DPR) already approved by IIT Bombay, the state government's nod is the final hurdle before construction begins.

With an estimated cost of ₹18,000 crore, Mumbai Metro Line 14 is expected to begin construction within a year. Once operational, it will provide a faster, more convenient travel option for daily commuters, significantly enhancing connectivity between Mumbai and its outskirts.
