The upcoming Mumbai Metro Line 4 (Green Line) is set to receive 39 fully automated, driverless trains, built under the ‘Make in India’ initiative by Alstom. These six-car trainsets will run on a 35.3 km elevated corridor from Wadala to Kasarvadavali with 32 stations, making it one of Mumbai's longest metro routes. Further, the metro authorities have already placed the first trial train coaches onto the tracks, near Anand Nagar in Thane. The project represents not just an engineering expansion but a civic transformation.
