Western Railway has announced temporary suspension of a few train services in Mumbai, from November 27. This 20-day block has been put in place for launching the girder of Gokhale Bridge, which connects the Western Express Highway and SV Road at Andheri. The bridge was shut down on November 3, 2022, after an official inspection marked the structure as unsafe.

Further details on suspended train services are awaited

It is noteworthy that the Gokhale Bridge girder, which is under construction, will become the second-largest railway bridge in Mumbai when the work is done. Furthermore, the bridge is expected to be partially opened in February 2024, after its initial deadline of November 2023 was extended. Any further details on the affected trains and the disrupted schedule have not yet been given by Western Railway.
