Mumbai Police issues traffic advisory, ahead of swearing-in ceremony of new Maharashtra CM on Dec 5

Traffic regulations will be in effect on Thursday from 12 PM.

The Mumbai Traffic Police have announced comprehensive traffic regulations for the upcoming swearing-in ceremony of Maharashtra's new Chief Minister at Azad Maidan, on December 5. With a significant turnout expected, traffic restrictions will be in place from 12 PM until the event concludes.

With no parking at in south Mumbai's Azad Maidan, attendees are urged to use public transport, especially local trains, as several routes will be no-entry zones on Thursday.

Know the routes- 

No Entry Zones:

  • CSMT Junction to Vasudev Balawant Phadke Chowk (Metro Junction) – Traffic prohibited in both directions

  • Chafekar Bandhu Chowk (OCS Junction) to Vasudev Balawant Phadke Chowk (Metro Junction) – Traffic prohibited in both directions

  • Mahapalika Marg – Traffic prohibited from CSMT Junction to Vasudev Balawant Phadke Chowk (Metro Junction) in both directions

  • Chafekar Bandhu Chowk (OCS Junction) to CSMT Junction – Traffic prohibited

  • Meghdoot Bridge (Princess Street Bridge) [Southbound] – Traffic restricted from NS Road and Coastal Road towards Shamaldas Gandhi Junction.

Rambhau Salgaonkar Road (One Way):

  • Open for two-way traffic from Indu Clinic Junction (Sayyed Jamadar Chowk) to Volga Chowk.

Optional Routes:

  • LT Marg – Chakala Junction – Right turn – DN Road – CSMT Junction – Towards desired destination (and vice versa).

  • Maharshi Karve Road – Towards desired destination.

  • Chafekar Bandhu Chowk (OCS Junction) – Hutatma Chowk – Kalaghoda – K Dubhash Marg – Shahid Bhagat Singh Marg – Towards desired destination.

  • NS Road
