Mumbai woke up to intense rainfall on Thursday, resulting in the Meteorological Department issuing a 'Yellow Alert' early in the morning. But now, live updates of Mumbai rains indicate that the downpour has continued to intensify. The weather department has now issued a 'Red Alert' for Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, and Raigad.

Notably, Mumbai is currently experiencing its second wettest July of all time, with 1564 mm rainfall as of now. However, this Red Alert has been issued for the Maximum City and the neighbouring areas for Thursday only.

In view of the intensifying Mumbai rains, a range of advisories have been issued by the likes of BMC, Air India, and more.

Flights affected, water storage levels shoot up!

Due to the intense downpour, the schedule of flights to and from Mumbai will likely by affected. People going to the airport might also experience delays on the way and they've been advised to leave early for the CSMI Airport.

Meanwhile, due to a steady increase in water storage, BMC has put out a tweet announcing that it will withdraw the 10% water cut for Mumbai, Thane, Bhiwandi, and Grampanchayat outside city division, starting Monday.
