The cabbies of Mumbai Central are often seen refusing short-distance travel and haggling over the fares with passengers from all walks. In a bid to provide a long-term resolution to this issue, the Tardeo RTO has launched a special control room, through which passengers can register complaints against the taxi drivers. Furthermore, the civic body has assigned an inspector-rank official to address all complaints coming through the RTO hotline.
The RTO has initiated a special hotline number, and has provided an E-mail ID on which citizens can register their complaints. Moreover, a special team of officials will routinely monitor the prime spots of the city to nab the drivers who refuse short journeys. The RTO has also decided to randomly interact with taxi drivers for explaining them the rules of the motor vehicles act.
Tardeo RTO control room contact info:
Tardeo RTO hotline number: 90762010101 (call facility available between 7 am to 7 pm)
WhatsApp text can also be dropped on the aforementioned number after 7 pm.

As the cabbies often behave in an unamicable manner, refusing short-distance trips and overcharging passengers, this move can prove to be a boon for commuters.
The citizens of the city welcomed the initiative, started by the civic body. Fearing strict actions, the taxi drivers will most likely serve the passengers correctly. Other RTO zones of the city will soon adopt similar methods to provide convenience to the public.
