Mumbai stations overflow with Chhath travellers; 4 Festive Special Trains announced for relief

Mumbai's railway stations are seeing a surge of passengers returning after the Chhath festival, with trains from Bihar and Purvanchal packed to capacity. To manage the rush, Indian Railways has introduced four additional Festival Special trains between Lokmanya Tilak Terminus and Chhapra, ensuring smoother travel for those heading back for Diwali and Chhath Puja.

Know the timings- 

  • Train No. 05084 (Festival Special)

    • Departure: Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Mumbai, on 31 October 2025, at 14:00 hrs.

    • Arrival: Chhapra at 04:45 hrs (third day).

  • Train No. 05083 (Festival Special)

    • Departure: Chhapra on 29 October 2025, at 20:00 hrs.

    • Arrival: Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Mumbai, at 12:00 hrs (third day).

  • Train No. 05588 (Festival Special)

    • Departure: Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Mumbai, on 1 November 2025, at 14:00 hrs.

    • Arrival: Chhapra at 04:45 hrs (third day).

  • Train No. 05587 (Festival Special)

    • Departure: Chhapra on 30 October 2025, at 20:00 hrs.

    • Arrival: Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Mumbai, at 12:00 hrs (third day).

  • Halts for all trains:
    Kalyan, Igatpuri, Nashik Road, Bhusaval, Khandwa, Itarsi, Rani Kamplapati, Bina, Jhansi, Orai, Kanpur Central, Aishbagh, Badshahnagar, Gomti Nagar, Barabanki, Gonda, Basti, Gorakhpur, Kaptanganj, Ramkola, Padrauna, Thawe, Dighwa Dubauli, Masrakh.

Bookings for these special services can be made through the IRCTC website or at reservation centres already started from October 30. Passengers are encouraged to take advantage of these services for a smoother festive journey.
