Khushboo Ali

In a bid to bolster security during the festive season, the Mumbai Police have extended prohibitory orders under section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) until January 18th. The order, effective from December 20, 2023, bans the flying of drones, paragliders, and other aerial objects for 30 days.

Exceptions include police surveillance or with written permission from the Deputy Commissioner of Police. Authorities express concerns that terrorist elements may exploit such devices to target VVIPs during the upcoming Christmas and New Year celebrations. The order, in force from December 20th, emphasises heightened vigilance to ensure public safety.
